Where innovators discuss world events and issues like alternative energy

An impossible situation in my opinion.  There seems to be no "right" thing to do, and more complications at every turn.  Are we just protecting civilians?  Are we looking for regime change?  Are we trying to help democratic governments get established?  What is our stance for the rest of the region undergoing similar civil unrest?

As everyone debates whether we should be getting involved in these Arab nations, I find myself wondering, "What would the United States look like if the Southern Confederacy had won the Civil War?".  How long would civil liberties have been set back?  Would we have a black President right now?
Governments and civilians around the world seem to view the "we" and "our" you mention above as the view of each and every American citizen-- as represented by our government and our and coalition-guided armed forces. Whether or not the actions of the state represent us, it seems we represent our state for those who know us.
While I always uphold efforts to establish and maintain humanitarian/sustainable infrastructures and practices and Human Rights, freedom and equality, I think it is important also to find as much information as possible to help clarify the situation.
I have transcribed the Briefing Materials from "A Discussion with Ali Aujali, Official Representative to the United States Transitional Council of the Libyan Republic" in a separate blog on this site.
I would have written it here, but its length is prohibitive. Please see:

to read their "Vision of a Democratic Libya," biographical summaries of the Transitional National Council leadership, an explanation of "How to help free Libya" by Ambassador Ali Suleiman Aujali, official representative to the US of the Transitional National Council of the Libyan Republic (former Libyan Ambassador to the US), and a bipartisan address by Senators Lieberman and McCain, "In Libya, regime change should be the goal," all provided in the official-letterhead briefing materials at the conference held April 4, 2011.

Thanks for the great information Michele!

Here's a link to Koshy's blog about Libya as well.

Are people fatigued from the Arab spring to the point that they won't help in Syria?
