Where innovators discuss world events and issues like alternative energy

The end of the peace talks in Afghanistan ended with a positive message for all involved. Some of the things discussed were the release of Afghan fighters and the removal of Taliban names from UN wanted list. The idea is that the objective should be to encourage Afghan fighters to cut ties with Al Qaeda and the Taliban and embrace peace.

At first I wasn't sure about the idea, but as I thought about it more, it made a lot of sense.  If we are going to have any hope of maintaining peace in Afghanistan, it can't be forced upon them.  We can't blast all of America's enemies away, but perhaps we can introduce them to rational people that can help us all maintain a peaceful relationship, even if we don't all agree.

More on the Afghan talks from the New York Times can be found here.
