I think this is an amazing start and that solar power could be used in a lot more areas. I do wonder, however, how useful this specific "stove" will be at cooking anything other than foods that can be prepared by a low temperature simmer. The solar reflector can provide actual oven temperatures, but for how long and how consistently can the temperature be maintained? I think in the US, it can be used for hikers and campers, but more importantly, with adjustments and improvements, it could be used to replaced backdoor grills...........

Christie that's a great point! Not being very proficient in the kitchen, I'm not sure how long something takes to bake. How long would a typical meal take to cook in an oven at the temperatures stated? If it's hours then you would probably need to move the mirror as the sun moved.

The problem I see with this for hikers is it's size. I don't think anyone will be hiking anywhere with anything like things, especially if there is glass involved. Perhaps parks would be a good place for these though. It would seem like a safe alternative to put out, especially in places like California where wildfires are a big problem.
